TL;DR / Decision. For a Saturday at Cuchara (2 MICHELIN Stars, 2026)[2] book Hotel Corbie Lommel — Hertog Janplein 68, ~150 m from the restaurant door, and the hotel’s own car park is literally Cuchara’s recommended overflow parking[1][4]. If you want something smaller and quieter, Mi Casa Naranja at Molsekiezel 24 is a 3-room boutique B&B, ~4 min walk to Cuchara, 4.9★ on TripAdvisor[7][8]. Cuchara also recommends ‘t Wilgenhuys (~2 km out, ⚠ taxi after dinner) and Ars Vivendi (~10 min drive, ✗ not walkable)[1] — listed below for completeness.

Why this is a short list

Cuchara sits at Lepelstraat 3, 3920 Lommel — a pedestrian-only street one block off the central Hertog Janplein, in a rear building of an old family house with a long black corridor as the entrance[3]. The restaurant itself explicitly recommends three properties: Corbiehotel, B&B ‘t Wilgenhuys and B&B Ars Vivendi — only Corbie is tagged “walking distance” on Cuchara’s own page[1].

A genuine “walk back after the tasting menu” radius around Lepelstraat 3 is roughly 600 m / 10 min on flat, lit streets. Mi Casa Naranja makes the cut on that criterion; Wilgenhuys (≈2 km, ≈25 min) is borderline and partly residential; Ars Vivendi (≈7 km in the Lommel-Werkplaatsen hamlet) doesn’t[12][13]. The town has no abundance of in-centre lodging — Visit Lommel’s directory lists basically the two Corbie locations, a handful of B&Bs, and outlying apartments[16] — so the table below is essentially exhaustive for “walk back to bed”.

The options

Hotel Corbie Lommel — the default pick

Hertog Janplein 68, 35 rooms and studios in a design-hotel format, sitting directly on the city-hall square[4]. Expedia clocks it at 0.2 km from Lommel centre and 8.0/10 across 549 reviews[6]; TripAdvisor (smaller sample) is more lukewarm at 3.4★ but explicitly calls out “within walking distance of … Cuchara”[5]. Consistent praise across both: helpful multilingual staff, strong breakfast (fresh OJ, varied buffet), free parking on the square. Consistent gripes: thin walls, smallish rooms in need of a refresh, no in-house dinner restaurant. Standard rooms run $196-$205 in recent reviews[5]. ⚠ Book the “City” location — there is a separate Corbie Lommel Ring on the ring road that is not walking distance to Cuchara[16].

Mi Casa Naranja — the boutique pick

Molsekiezel 24, three luxury rooms tied to the Spanish restaurant Mi Media Naranja[7]. TripAdvisor scores 4.9★ across 8 reviews and pegs Cuchara at “approximately 4 minutes away”[8]. Pricing is friendly: €110/night for 1 night, €100 for 2-3 nights, €90 for 4+; the larger Sombrero room with kitchen and terrace is €120[7]. One asterisk: breakfast is not included — €20 extra if you want it[7]. Pet-friendly with cookies and blankets for the dog, free street parking, Nespresso/fridge/TV in every room. Aggregator listings show entry rates from €79[9]. Best fit for a couple who wants quiet and character over hotel amenities, and is OK with breakfasting at a café on the square.

B&B ‘t Wilgenhuys — Cuchara’s reco, but plan a taxi

Jacob Smitsdreef 2, on the western edge of town next to the Bosland forest. Visit Limburg puts the centre 2 km away[12]; the B&B’s own site frames it as “only a few minutes from the centre”[10] — which is true by bike or car, not on foot after a 4-hour tasting menu in November. 4 rooms, 4.9★ across 13 TripAdvisor reviews, Travellers’ Choice award, $128-$148/night[11]. Breakfast in-room or on the terrace. Use Taxi Flament (+32 475 86 53 10) — listed by Cuchara itself[1] — for the post-dinner return.

B&B Ars Vivendi — strictly not walkable

Werkplaatsen 47, three rooms in a 1904 engineer’s villa inside the historic Lommel-Werkplaatsen workers’ settlement, run by Ann and Guido since 2014[14]. Universally praised on TripAdvisor but the 10-minute drive from centre puts it squarely in taxi-only territory for a Cuchara evening[13]. Worth it if the rest of the weekend involves Lommel Sahara / Bosland and you have a car; not the smart pick if the dinner is the anchor.

Hotel Lommelhof — backup

Molsekiezel 95, 29 rooms, two-star, mid-7s scores; further down Molsekiezel than Mi Casa, so ~750 m to Cuchara. On-site restaurant and free breakfast included, ~US$177/night[15]. Pick this only if Corbie and Mi Casa are sold out — Mi Casa is on the same street, closer, better-reviewed, and cheaper.

Practical notes for the Saturday-dinner scenario

  • Parking: Lepelstraat is pedestrian-only. Cuchara directs guests to Adelbergpark 1 first, Hertog Janplein if full[1] — i.e. the Hotel Corbie square. If you’ve booked Corbie, you’re already parked.
  • Taxi: Cuchara lists Taxi Flament +32 (0) 475 86 53 10[1]. Useful for Wilgenhuys/Ars Vivendi (or anywhere off-centre after wine pairings).
  • Restaurant timing: Cuchara serves Tue-Sat evenings only; dinner arrival is 18:30 or 19:00[1] — long enough for a 22:30-23:30 finish, so a walking-distance bed matters.
  • Tourist tax: As of 1 January 2026, Lommel charges a municipal tourist tax on room-based accommodation — surfaces as a small per-night line on your bill.
