TL;DR The next big LA tech window opens June 10 (AWS Summit, free) followed by a dense cluster in July around SIGGRAPH (July 19–23) — the single richest week to be in LA if your interests span AI, graphics, or open source. For startup networking, Tech Week (Oct 12–18) is the a16z-led decentralized conference that fills the city. Cloud/API practitioners should target Sept 30–Oct 1 for Kong’s API & AI Summit.

Hundreds of independent events (hackathons, founder panels, VC office hours, community meetups) organized by startups and funds across the city. Major sponsors: a16z, IBM, Adobe, AWS, Fenwick, HSBC. To attend: browse the event calendar once it launches; each host controls their own guest list.
API & AI Summit (Kong) — Sep 30–Oct 1 [7]

Planning Notes
- Best single weekend for tech + culture: Jul 18–19 — AlmaLinux Day (free, Friday) rolls directly into SIGGRAPH opening weekend (Saturday). The downtown convention cluster is walkable from DTLA dining and arts.
- Cloud/infra professionals: Jun 10 AWS Summit (free) or Sep 30–Oct 1 Kong API Summit are the tightest, most focused picks.
- Startup/VC scene: Oct 12–18 Tech Week spreads events across multiple neighborhoods; plan to pick 4–6 events and build restaurant reservations around them.
- Cybersecurity: No single mega-conference; FutureCon (Jan, past), TechEx (May, past), and the Cybersecurity Summit (Nov 2) cover exec/CISO audiences throughout the year.
- SCaLE [3] is in Pasadena (~30 min from DTLA), not central LA — budget travel time. At $20, it’s the cheapest full-week tech conference on the list.
