Enterprise visitors anchor on Japan IT Week [3] (April/October). Makuhari Messe (AWS, Japan IT Week Autumn) and Yokohama (KubeCon) are ~30 min from Shinjuku by train.

Trade Shows & Expos

Japan IT Week — Japan’s largest IT exhibition, twice yearly. Spring 2026 (Apr 8–10, Tokyo Big Sight) drew 51,370 visitors across seven co-located shows covering software dev, IoT, cybersecurity, AI/DX, and e-commerce [3]. Autumn edition (Oct 21–23) moves to Makuhari Messe [19]. Free admission both editions.

NexTech Week Tokyo — B2B trade show at Tokyo Big Sight running parallel to Japan IT Week (Spring: Apr 15–17; Autumn: Nov 11–13 at Makuhari Messe). Skews more forward-looking than Japan IT Week: AI, quantum computing, humanoid robotics, and blockchain [5].

SusHi Tech Tokyo — Tokyo Metropolitan Government-backed startup event. 2026 edition (Apr 27–29) drew 60,000 participants, 700+ startups, and ~10,000 business meetings at Tokyo Big Sight [6]. Strong international presence; 2027 edition expected May 20–22.

Google Cloud Next Tokyo — July 30–31 at Tokyo Big Sight. Free daytime Open Stage sessions (no reservation needed). Nine breakout categories anchored on Gemini AI. Dev Night evening event for developers; Learning & Certification hub on-site [13].

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan — July 28–30 in Yokohama. CNCF’s flagship Asia Pacific event. Strong English-language program. Co-located ArgoCon, KeycloakCon, and Japan Community Day. Scholarship and travel-fund applications available [12].

SRE NEXT — July 10–11, TOC Ariake, Tokyo. Community-run SRE conference themed “Inclusive SRE.” Hybrid (in-person + stream). Primarily Japanese; international attendees should expect limited English sessions [10].

Developer Conferences

Code with Claude — June 10, Tokyo. Anthropic’s three-city developer conference, final stop after San Francisco (May 6) and London (May 19). Three tracks: Research, Claude Platform, and Claude Code. Free entry by lottery (distributed April 2026); global livestream available. June 11 spin-off “Code with Claude: Extended” for indie devs and founders [7].

DroidKaigi 2026 — Sep 1–3, Bellesalle Shibuya Garden. Android developer conference by engineers, for engineers. Bilingual sessions; one of the few Tokyo dev conferences with meaningful English-language programming [14].

iOSDC Japan 2026 — Sep 11–13, Tokyo. iOS and Swift community conference. Hybrid offline/online. Primarily Japanese-language; best suited for Japanese-speaking iOS developers [16].

ETHGlobal Tokyo — Sep 25–27. 48-hour Ethereum hackathon with workshops, mentors, and prizes. Open to Web2 developers entering the Ethereum ecosystem [17].

AI, Web3 & Emerging Tech

Tokyo AI Week / TS26 — April 6–8 at Happo-En (past; watch for 2027 dates). 80+ AI speakers, 500+ attendees, co-located with TEAMZ Summit (Asia’s largest Web3 & AI conference, 10,625 attendees in 2026) [1] [2]. TEAMZ general admission from ¥31,550; 58 side events across Tokyo Web3/AI Week (Apr 4–10).

MCP Dev Summit / AGNTCon + MCPCon Japan — Sep 10–11, Tokyo. New for 2026, back-to-back events focused on the Model Context Protocol and agentic AI patterns — the clearest Tokyo signal for the current agentic AI wave [15].

Security

CODE BLUE 2026 — Conference Nov 17–18 at Versailles Takadanobaba (trainings Nov 11–15 at Versailles Shinjuku). International cybersecurity research conference with simultaneous Japanese-English interpretation. Youth Track for presenters under 25. CFP open [21]. One of Japan’s top security research gatherings alongside SECCON.

Testing & Open Source

Tokyo Test Fest — Nov 12–13, Osaki Bright Core Hall. Community-run QA and software testing conference [20].

Open Source Summit Japan — Dec 7–9, Tokyo. Linux Foundation event covering Linux, open-source tooling, and community governance [22].
