Decision: Book Narbasu if dates allow — Casa Marcial’s own sister-property, a 14th-c. palace 20 min away with a Michelin Green-Star restaurant on-site [3] [5]. If sold out: Puebloastur is the closest serious sleep (~3 km from the dining room) and the only 5★ Gran Lujo in the region [7] [8]. Hotel Casona del Sella is the value pick — a 14-room 1923 Indiano in central Arriondas at €90–€130/night [12].

Casa Marcial sits in the hamlet of La Salgar, ~3 km outside Arriondas (Parres) [1]. It has no rooms of its own and points diners at Narbasu [2]. Every pick below is within a ~25-minute taxi; an Arriondas↔Cereceda hop is roughly 9 min and €20–€25 [6].

The picks, with reasons

Narbasu — the obvious choice

Esther and Nacho Manzano’s own 23-room hotel inside the 14th-c. Palacio de Rubianes at Cereceda (Piloña), ~13 km east of La Salgar [3] [4]. The on-site restaurant holds a Michelin Green Star — the sustainable-Asturian sister concept to Casa Marcial [5]. Breakfast is sourdough, Tineo butter, Caserinos yogurt, cured meats [4]. Gotcha: the property runs Thursday–Sunday, so a Sat-night Casa Marcial dinner aligns but a Sunday-night extension may not [4].

Puebloastur Eco-Resort & Spa — closest + most luxurious

The nearest serious hotel to the restaurant — ~1.8 mi per TripAdvisor’s “closest hotels” list [15]. Awarded Gran Lujo in 2025, Asturias’s highest hospitality distinction [7]. 28–30 designer rooms, full Nature Spa (sauna, hammam, heated outdoor pool), a 9-metre Salvador Dalí sculpture on the grounds [8]. Rates are heavy — roughly €470–€770 standard double — and the property is set in pasture, so the day plan is the spa rather than the village [8].

Palacio de Cutre — the stone palace

A palace with wall, tower and chapel in La Goleta (Piloña), with seasonal Asturian cooking on-site [9]. Booking guests average 9.1/10, with Staff at 9.6 and Comfort at 9.3 [10]. Two flagged caveats: GPS struggles to find the access road, and there’s no A/C — fine for a May–June trip, less so in August [10]. ~20 km / 20 min east of La Salgar; a real taxi but worth the historic shell.

Hotel Aultre Naray — quietest character

An 1873 casona in Peruyes (Cangas de Onís), restored in 1995 with original limestone portico, chestnut beams, and iron-handrail staircase preserved [11]. Paco Terán-designed interiors, fireside lounges, candles-and-books vibe [11]. Closer to Cangas de Onís than Arriondas — good if your weekend also takes in Covadonga and the Lagos.

Hotel Casona del Sella — value, in the heart of Arriondas

1923 Indiano-style mansion (built by returning Spanish-Cuban emigrants) on Plaza Venancio Pando, restored 2001; 14 individually-decorated rooms with antique furnishings and hardwood floors; terrace over the Sella [12]. 83/100 walkability — the only pick where you can roll out the door for a sidra nightcap [12]. TripAdvisor 3.6★ reflects “thin walls, prioritises charm over polish”; €87–€129/night, by far the cheapest character option [12].

Hotel El Babú — coastal-rural alternative

Tiny 18th-c. Asturian manor on the N-632 (km 17) between Ribadesella and Colunga, 7 rooms, on the Camino del Norte, renewable-energy throughout, Asturian-cheese-and-cured-meat breakfast [14]. Playa de la Espasa 1.5 km, Mirador del Fito viewpoint 7 km [14]. ~22 km from Casa Marcial — pair with beach mornings.

La Raposera — sea-view Indiano (couples only)

6-room 1917 Indiano on a 5,000 m² Caravia farm, rehabilitated 2014, with both Cantabrian-Sea and Sierra del Sueve views, glass-walled breakfast room, fireplace lounge [13]. No on-site restaurant — village dining is a 5-min walk; adults/teens 14+ only, no pets [13]. 5.0/5 on TripAdvisor — among the highest-rated rural sleeps near Casa Marcial [15].

Backup: Hotel El Quintanal

Renovated 2008 Asturian manor in Bode, 2 km from Arriondas, 11 rooms (two Junior Suites with hydromassage) [17]. Less heritage character than the above — feels more “country B&B” than “boutique” — but a workable fallback if everything else is booked.

How to pick

If you prioritise… Pick
The Manzano family experience end-to-end Narbasu
Closest sleep + spa + 5★ luxury Puebloastur
Stone-walls historic Palacio de Cutre
Quiet, designer-restored, intimate Aultre Naray
Walkable to town, cheapest character pick Casona del Sella
Coastal base — beach mornings, dinner inland El Babú or La Raposera

Logistics

  • Taxi pre-book the return. La Salgar is a hamlet with no rank — get the driver’s number on the way in or have the restaurant call one [1] [6]. One diner wrote up using Ribadesella as a coastal base ~30 min away, which works but adds a longer taxi than any pick above [16].
  • Book in this order: Casa Marcial dinner first (months ahead) → hotel after the dining date confirms [2].
  • Sunday note: Narbasu operates Thursday–Sunday only [4] — fine for a Sat-night dinner with a Sun-morning checkout, less so for a Sun-night extension.
