Cari viaggiatori,

If you only have half a day, leave the car behind and walk: Villa Crespi → Sacro Monte → Piazza Motta → boat to Isola San Giulio. All under 1 km from the door, free entrance, about three hours.

For a full day, drive 23 minutes to Stresa and ferry-hop the three Borromean Islands. Or take the SP41 Armeno road up to Mottarone — the cable car has been closed since 2021 and is not coming back this season.

Two warnings on the back of this packet: Parco Pallavicino closes Friday 22 May for the Giro d'Italia, and the late-May lake is 15 °C — wetsuit weather. Tutto il resto è meraviglia.
