Restaurant Régis et Jacques Marcon sits at Larsiallas, 43290 Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid[1] — three Michelin stars on a wooded plateau between Haute-Loire and Ardèche. "Taxi range" here = roughly 30 minutes / 30 km, the rural distance a local cab will run for €60–95[3][18]. Selection below is filtered for character — heritage, troglodyte, yurts, restored farms — not chain comfort.

Practicalities
- Taxi math. Local rural taxis to Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid: Tence 14.8 km / 15 min via D 18[16]; Lalouvesc 13.6 km / 15 min via D 532–D 214[15]; Saint-Agrève 21.3 km / 22 min via D 9[17]; Annonay 26.7 km / 25 min for €60–75[3]; Yssingeaux ~30 min for €70–90[18]. Book the return in advance — these are not Uber towns.
- Why the village beats the periphery. A 5-min walk back to your room after a 4-hour tasting menu trumps a 25-min cab. Sleep in Saint-Bonnet first; reach outwards only if booked out or budget-locked.
- What got cut. Hôtel La Découverte (3rd Marcon property) is comfortable and convenient but described as "mountain spirit" 18 m² rooms — character is thinner than its two siblings.[20] Generic chain options around Annonay/Yssingeaux exist but defeat the brief.
- Booking lead time. The Marcon hotel sells out months ahead, particularly Friday/Saturday and around mushroom season. Reserve it together with the table.
