The 14-day window

Across all six topic areas, the 2026 CFP cycle in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Germany is in its late-tail phase: most flagship events booked their speakers between January and mid-April. What’s left is a tight cluster of deadlines bunched into the next two weeks, then a thinner second wave running into late June.

Today, 30 April, two CFPs close at 23:59 CEST: BruCON 0x12 in Mechelen [1] and the German-language online Power Summit [2]. BruCON is the only one of the two with material speaker support — €1000 travel plus lodging [3], exceptional for a community-run security con.

Days 4–10: NeurIPS 2026 abstracts May 4 / paper May 6 — and crucially, the conference has a Paris venue node alongside Atlanta and Sydney [4], making it one of the few in-region open AI venues. OWASP AppSec Days France closes May 7 (FR or EN, 20-min lightning slot is the path of least resistance) [5]; escar Europe Bonn closes May 10 (automotive cyber only) [6]; code.talks Hamburg closes May 15 [7].

Travel-friendly picks if you want a real stage

For practitioners who want a paid trip and a sizable audience, the two cleanest submissions are Techorama NL (Utrecht, Oct 26–28; closes May 29; covers travel + hotel) [8] and DDC Cologne (Nov 23–26; closes Jun 15; travel reimbursement + accommodation, no honorarium) [9]. Techorama NL also overlaps the architecture topic — its “Architecture & Leadership” track means a single submission can target either the .NET or architecture audience.

The architecture flagship in DACH is iSAQB Software Architecture Gathering (Berlin, Nov 16–19) — its CFP opens 5 May, closes 9 Jun [10]. Worth a calendar reminder.

Where the calendar is empty

France is the thinnest market in this snapshot. Devoxx France, dotJS, React Paris, Vue.js Amsterdam, leHACK, and Pass the SALT have all either happened or closed their CFPs [11] [12] [13]. What’s left: OWASP AppSec Days (May 7), MWCP Paris’s rolling Microsoft-community submissions [14], DevFest Paris (Jun 30), and the NeurIPS Paris node. NewCrafts Paris is on hiatus for 2026 and returns in 2027.

Pure-React submitters have exactly one option: React Day Berlin on Aug 12 — and it’s explicitly unpaid (speaking fee No) per cfp.watch [7]. The big Amsterdam React events (JSNation, React Summit) closed their windows in March.

Two near-future openings worth the wait

Devoxx Belgium opens its CFP 1 June (closes Jul 17; event Oct 5–9 in Antwerp) [15], and iSAQB SAG opens 5 May [10]. Both are higher-signal than anything closing this week. If a single, well-prepared talk can be submitted multiple places, the optimal sequence is: file by today (BruCON), submit during the 4–15 May wave, then resubmit refined versions to Devoxx BE and iSAQB SAG in early June.

The sharpest open question this snapshot leaves: why is the BE/NL/DE 2026 cycle now this front-loaded? Five years ago a 30 April look would have surfaced ten flagship CFPs still open; today it surfaces three (security) and a handful of mid-tier practitioner events. Worth tracking next year whether Sessionize/papercall.io’s earlier-opening defaults are pulling deadlines forward across the board.
