Decision: Book SingleThread Inn itself if a room is free — it's the only way to guarantee your dinner table, and you wake 30 feet from the kitchen.[1] If it's full, Liora Estate (same block, vinyl records + sunset rituals, freshly rebranded April 2026) is the most character-rich fallback.[3] For Michelin-endorsed estate grounds over downtown proximity, take a 5-minute taxi to The Madrona (2 Michelin Keys, 1881 manor).[9]
Anchor: SingleThread ★★★ is at 131 North St, Healdsburg.[18] Downtown Healdsburg is a compact grid — every property below is within walking distance except The Madrona (5-min taxi). "Taxi range" here is a formality; the real filter is distinctive character rather than proximity.

Liora Estate

27 North St · 0.1 mi — same block as SingleThread
Preferred Hotels 16 rooms Rebranded Apr 2026
$489–$958 / night

The 27 North St building opened in 2005 as Hotel Les Mars (Relais & Châteaux), became 27 North, then rebranded to Liora Estate in April 2026.[4] Fireplaces, wrought-iron balconies, deep soaking tubs. New "slow luxury" identity: vinyl record collection & turntable per room, daily afternoon wine hour, a sunset "Atmosphere Ritual" with softened lighting and candles, locally sourced truffles at turndown.[3] New Maréla restaurant (European coastal bistro) opened May 15, 2026.

Old-World mansion bones with curated sensory rituals. The "slow luxury" mood pairs naturally with a long SingleThread tasting-menu night. Note: renovation-era reviews through early 2026 flagged some service inconsistencies.

Camellia Inn

211 North St · 0.1 mi — same street, 2-min walk
1869 Victorian 9 rooms Full breakfast
From ~$300 / night

1869 Italianate Victorian on a quiet residential stretch of North Street. Villa-style swimming pool, full breakfast each morning in the dining room, evening wine & cheese, complimentary tastings at Wilson Artisan Wineries.[12] Rates from ~$300 on KAYAK.[13]

Best value on this list. Nine-room intimacy with a storybook Victorian shell — a genuine counterpoint to SingleThread's Japanese minimalism.

Hotel Healdsburg

25 Matheson St · 0.1 mi — west edge of the Plaza
Design Hotels™ Spa Pool
Premium tier (on request)

Design Hotels™ member.[7] Custom artwork by local Bay Area artists throughout; hand-thrown ceramics by Jered Nelson; native bay laurel wood furnishings. Spa, pool adjacent to olive grove, Charlie Palmer's Dry Creek Kitchen, casual Pizzando, Spirit Bar with live jazz.[6]

Right for guests who want spa access the morning after dinner without sacrificing design ambition. More polished-conventional than quirky, but the art program is genuine.

Harmon Guest House

227 Healdsburg Ave · 0.2 mi — 5-min walk
LEED Gold 39 rooms Living art
From ~$400 / night

Eco-brutalist structure softened by reclaimed redwood and vine-covered facades; the building slowly transforms as plantings mature. A living installation space for rotating local artists — four-story glass staircase with commissioned floral/bird artwork. Healdsburg's only public rooftop bar with fire pit and yoga. Creekside park with custom footbridge. LEED Gold certified. Cross-property Spoonbar breakfast at sister H2Hotel.[11]

Most architecturally interesting hotel in town. Feels more like an art residency than a hotel — the wabi-sabi aesthetic contrasts well with SingleThread's precision.

Grape Leaf Inn

539 Johnson St · 0.4 mi — 9-min walk
Victorian Speakeasy
From $344 / night

Victorian building two blocks north of the Plaza. Signature feature: an on-site Prohibition-style speakeasy for post-dinner drinks. Welcome glass of wine on arrival. Select rooms have deep soaking tubs and steam showers.[14] Rates from $344 on KAYAK.[15]

The speakeasy is the draw — a natural after-dinner destination that keeps the SingleThread evening alive without getting in a car.

The Madrona

1001 Westside Rd · 0.7 mi — 5-min taxi
★★ 2 Michelin Keys 8-acre estate
From $365 / night

1881 Aesthetic Movement mansion on an 8-acre estate. Two Michelin Keys (2024 & 2025).[9] Art collection curated by Dolby Chadwick Gallery — most pieces for sale throughout the property. Garden-led dining. Hidden gardens, panoramic valley views, emerald grounds.[8] $2 per stay benefits Farm to Pantry. Rates from $365 on KAYAK.[10]

If you want the estate experience over downtown proximity — and Michelin-endorsed lodging to pair with a Michelin dinner — The Madrona is the natural pairing. Only one requiring a taxi.
