In Cassis
La Villa Madie ★★★
Dimitri and Marielle Droisneau have run La Villa Madie since 2013, earning two stars in 2014 and the third in 2022.[2] Droisneau — trained at Bernard Pacaud's La Tour d'Argent — channels Normandy roots through a Provençal lens: light, aromatic, Mediterranean-forward cuisine built around the day's catch and the restaurant's own gardens.[5] The setting amplifies everything: a terrace hanging over the Bay of Cassis, Cap Canaille's red cliffs rising behind, the sea directly below.
Signature dishes include Grilled Royal Lobster with Saffron Broth, Calamari with Calanques vinaigrette, and Veal Sweetbreads with black truffle and lemon zest.[5] Sommelier Lionel Legoinha curates 550+ vintages — including local Cassis AOC whites.[5] Menus change daily with the season and the sea.[3]
| Menu | Courses | Price | Service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anse de l'Arène | 4 | €195 | Lunch only (Thu–Fri, excl. summer & holidays) |
| Cap Canaille | 6 | €295 | Lunch & dinner |
| Les Agapes de Soubeyrannes | 8 | €380 | Dinner & weekend lunch |
Brasserie du Corton sister restaurant
The Droisneaus opened this relaxed bistro directly above the gastronomic restaurant in 2024 — Michelin-calibre produce and technique, bistro format, ≈€70/person.[2] Children's menu at €22. Same sea view, far shorter advance notice required. The right choice if the main room is full or the €295–380 tasting menus are out of scope.
No 2-Star Options Here — Nearest 3-Star Alternatives
The Bouches-du-Rhône constellation goes from 1-star straight to 3-star; there are no 2-star restaurants in Cassis or Marseille in the 2026 Michelin Guide.[6][8] If La Villa Madie is full, the nearest 3-star options are in Marseille (~25 min drive) or Le Castellet (~35 min).

Le Petit Nice: also a 5-star hotel (Relais & Châteaux), useful if staying in Marseille.[9] AM par Alexandre Mazzia: book months ahead — 24 seats only; lunch is significantly more affordable than dinner.[11][12] La Table du Castellet retains 3 stars despite the chef change; verify current quality before booking.[15]
