★★★ Three Stars
Piazza Duomo
Crippa opened in 2005 with the Ceretto family;[2] three stars arrived by 2012, making it Piedmont's first. Cuisine pivots on Crippa's 3-hectare kitchen garden supplying 400+ vegetable varieties — his signature "21…31…41…51" salad tours the seasons in a single plate. Rooms feature Clemente frescoes and Nevelson tapestries. Green Star for sustainability (2022); consistent World's 50 Best fixture since 2013.[2]

La Rei Natura by Michelangelo Mammoliti
Elevated to three stars in the Michelin Guide Italy 2026,[1] La Rei Natura sits inside the 5-star Il Boscareto Resort & Spa atop a Barolo vineyard hill. Mammoliti's philosophy is radically ingredient-centric: a 200 m² on-site greenhouse plus a separate vegetable garden in Barolo supply the kitchen.[8] Thirty-five seats; tableside preparations; sommelier Alessandro Tupputi curates pairings. The newest three-star in the area — carries the energy of a kitchen still pushing upward.

★★ Two Stars
Antica Corona Reale
Founded in 1815 and run by five generations of the Vivalda family,[10] this is the oldest fine-dining house in the region. Cuisine weaves traditional Piedmontese ingredients — bagna càuda, Cherasco snails, Valle Stura lamb, Alba truffles — with French technique. A signature raviolo of bagna càuda appears alongside the house bouillabaisse. Vivalda won the Michelin Passion Dessert Award 2024.[9] Outdoor dining under a summer pergola; private wine-cellar room available.

Locanda del Sant'Uffizio Enrico Bartolini
Second star earned November 2022.[11] Boffa, himself born in Alba, trained at Guido (Fontanafredda) and staged at Mugaritz, La Grenouillère, and Pujol before taking up the residency. The setting is a converted 17th-century monastery in the Monferrato hills (Province of Asti), with meals served in the elegant limonaia.[12] Cuisine: a "paean to Italian biodiversity" — extraordinary agnolotti del plin, local hazelnut and 45-month Parmesan risotto, Monferrato game. Farther from Alba than the others; more naturally paired with an Asti-area itinerary.
