The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2026 covers 9 starred restaurants across Malaysia; all 7 in KL are listed here.[1] Two restaurants — Akar and Terra Dining — are new additions for 2026, both from TTDI and both rooted in modern Malaysian cuisine.[2]
Dewakan
Malaysia's only two-star restaurant — and its first.[3] Named from dewa (god) + makan (eat), Dewakan serves a 12-course tasting menu built entirely on Malaysian-sourced ingredients — fermented, dry-aged, or foraged in-house. Even the dinnerware is made by local artists. Service takes place 48 floors above KL; the skyline views match the ambition of the food.[4] The restaurant also holds Malaysia's only MICHELIN Green Star, awarded for sustainability practices.[3]
