Frame
Léa Linster sits at 17 route de Luxembourg in Frisange, a village on the southern motorway corridor between Luxembourg City and the French border[1]. Frisange itself has no character lodging — but it is the hub of a ~20 km wheel that touches the Mondorf thermal park, the Moselle vineyards, the Schengen castle and old-town Luxembourg City. Webtaxi (the dominant local operator; there is no Uber) bills €3 base + €4.30/km, with a 10 % surcharge after 22:00 — so a 20 km post-dinner ride lands at roughly €90 with the night uplift[3]. Anything past ~30 minutes is a different trip; the seven picks below are all 5–25 minutes from the restaurant door.
The picks
Mondorf Parc Hôtel & Spa closest
Direct internal access to the 45-hectare Domaine Thermal: 12 sauna types, indoor and outdoor pools at 36°C, a thermal source running since 1847[5]. Every room has a terrace; five on-site restaurants including bistronomic 36° if dinner at Léa Linster wasn't enough[4]. The natural pre- and post-dinner choice — Frisange is the next village over.
Hôtel Château Schengen most romantic
A castle dating to 1390 (rebuilt 1812), the medieval tower intact, riverside on the Moselle right at the tri-border. Victor Hugo slept here in 1871[6]. Renovated and reopened June 2024; doubles as the village's main restaurant[7]. ⚠ Reviews flag occasional plumbing/heating quirks — character has a tax[6].
Hôtel Le Place d'Armes – Relais & Châteaux city-luxe
The only Relais & Châteaux hotel in Luxembourg[18]. Art Nouveau bones with contemporary fit-out, marble bathrooms, original fireplaces in most rooms[11]. Three on-site restaurants including a Michelin-starred fine-dining room — turns a Sunday brunch into a second event without leaving the courtyard[10].
Victor's Residenz-Hotel Schloss Berg 3-Michelin
Across the Moselle bridge from Schengen, in vineyards at the German–French–Luxembourgish corner. Two buildings — a Renaissance castle and a Roman-villa wing — three restaurants including Victor's Fine Dining by Christian Bau, three Michelin stars since 2005[9]. Wellness with indoor pool, sauna, steam bath[8]. ⚠ Cross-border taxi — confirm with Webtaxi at booking; the Schengen agreement means no checkpoint, but pricing brackets differ.
Hotel Parc Beaux-Arts small & old
Ten suites only, inside a classified historic building 180 m from the Palais Grand-Ducal. Beamed ceilings, fireplaces, English country-style fit-out[12]. The pick if you want the Place d'Armes neighbourhood without the bigger-hotel scale.
Domaine La Forêt wine country
Moselle-side hotel-restaurant with its own wine programme (the "Privilège Wine-In" package) and a spa with indoor pool. Room categories run from standard to residential duplexes with jacuzzis[13]. Anchors a Sunday morning vineyard walk along the Moselle cycle path.
Hôtel Saint-Nicolas & Spa
Directly on the Moselle promenade. Indoor + outdoor pools, sauna, hammam, ice-grotto, infra-red cabin and Kneipp basins included; in-room spa baths in most categories[14]. The Lohengrin restaurant runs panoramic river views[14]. Tripadvisor consensus: "romantic hotel on the riverside of the Mosel"[17].
Hôtel Beau-Séjour budget
Family-run, eleven rooms, a 350-metre walk from the Mondorf thermal park gate[15]. No spa direct-access and no in-house wellness, but the only sub-€140 character option in the Frisange-adjacent ring — and you can still buy a spa day-pass next door.

Practical notes
- Book the return taxi before you sit down. Frisange is on the village edge of the Webtaxi catchment. After 22:00 the 10 % night uplift kicks in and free street-hailing isn't a thing — pre-book the 22:30 or 23:00 pickup from Léa Linster[3].
- Mondorf's Sunday-morning thermal session opens early and is the cheapest hangover cure in the country if you sleep on-property[5].
- Schengen / Victor's is across the bridge in Germany — borderless under Schengen, but flag it to Webtaxi at booking; cross-border tariffs are not the same as the in-country meter[3].
- Remich pairs naturally with a Sunday vineyard walk — Domaine La Forêt and Saint-Nicolas both sit on the Moselle cycle path[13].
- Léa Linster's location at 17 route de Luxembourg[16] makes any pick north of Frisange (Luxembourg City) a straight motorway ride; picks east (Mondorf, Remich, Schengen) take the CR152.
