TL;DR. One real anchor in this radius: KIKK Festival 21–25 October 2026 in Namur [1] — Wallonia’s flagship digital-culture event with ~50 speakers across AI, dataviz, design and XR. Outside KIKK week, the area is venue-rich but conference-thin: year-round programming at Le Pavillon [5] and TRAKK [6] in Namur, and Charleroi’s A6K innovation hub [8] sitting right at the 30 km edge. If you want a developer-track conference (Devoxx, Java, AWS user groups), nothing fits — those all happen in Antwerp/Brussels [15][16].
The geography
L’Eau Vive [9] is in Arbre, a hamlet of Profondeville, about 12.5 km south of Namur by road [11]. A 30 km circle from there covers Namur city centre, Dinant (~20 km south), Gembloux (~25 km north), Andenne (~22 km east), and reaches just barely to Charleroi at ~30 km west [10]. Brussels, Liège, Louvain-la-Neuve and Antwerp all fall outside the radius.
Scheduled events in the radius
Listed from soonest to latest in 2026. Distance is to L’Eau Vive (Arbre).
| Date | Event | Venue (distance) | Type | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thu 28 May 2026 | Digital Wallonia Data Forum 2026 | Business Center Actibel Ecolys, Namur (~13 km) | Public-sector data conference | Free, register |
| 6–16 Oct 2026 | La Semaine Numérique | Wallonia-wide incl. Namur venues (~12 km) | Digital-literacy week | Free or ≤€5/half-day |
| 21–25 Oct 2026 | KIKK Festival 2026 (15th ed.) | Multiple Namur venues; Le Pavillon + Théâtre (~12 km) | Digital culture festival | Conference Pass ~€109, Full Pass ~€249 |
KIKK is the one to plan around [1][2]. Five days, ~50 speakers on AI, dataviz, creativity, design, XR, music tech and branding; conferences for pros plus the city-wide “KIKK In Town” art trail and Le Market for prototypes. The Conference Pass covers the talks; the Full Pass adds exhibitions, workshops and parties. Topics lean creative-tech (artists, researchers, designers) rather than enterprise IT — if you want a JVM/cloud/DevOps track, this isn’t it.
Data Forum 2026 is sector-specific (public-sector open data, AI in administration, ministerial keynotes) and is happening this Thursday — only worth it if open data / govtech is your beat [3].
La Semaine Numérique is broad digital-literacy programming aimed at families, seniors, and the general public, themed “Aux rythmes de l’humain” — useful for community-tech outreach, less so for a working engineer [4].
Year-round venues worth checking
If your weekend doesn’t fall on a conference date, these have rolling programs:
| Venue | Location | What’s there | Distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Le Pavillon | Citadel esplanade, Namur | Digital-culture exhibitions, talks, performances [5] | ~12 km |
| TRAKK | 16 Avenue Reine Astrid, Namur | FabLab + creative-industries hub; runs workshops + conferences [6][7] | ~12 km |
| KIKK ASBL HQ | Rue Joseph Saintraint 10, Namur | KIKK’s year-round arts × tech × community events [12] | ~12 km |
| UNamur Faculty of Computer Science | Rue Grandgagnage, Namur | Occasional research seminars; contributed to MSR 2026 [13] | ~12 km |
| A6K Charleroi | Square des Martyrs 1, Charleroi | Engineering / advanced-tech innovation hub next to Charleroi-Sud station; hosts industry workshops [8] | ~30 km ⚠ edge |
A6K sits at the 30 km limit by road [10] — straight-line from Arbre it’s closer, but it’s the one entry where the radius matters. Gosselies (Charleroi airport area, where Technofutur TIC is currently based) is further out and falls outside.
Outside the radius — don’t be tempted
These look nearby on a Belgian map but don’t make the 30 km cut:
| Event | Where | Why excluded |
|---|---|---|
| Devoxx Belgium 2026 (5–9 Oct) | Kinepolis Antwerpen | ~130 km — Antwerp [16] |
| AI Summit Brussels / Microsoft AI Tour | Brussels | ~65 km — Brussels |
| FARI Brussels Conference (23 Nov) | Brussels | ~65 km |
| Cyber Intelligence Europe (Apr) | Brussels | ~65 km, also past |
| SETT Namur 2027 (18–19 Feb) | Namur Expo (~13 km, in radius) | Date is 2027 — note for next year [14] |
What I checked and didn’t find
- Developer-conference listings (dev.events) show zero physical conferences in Namur for 2026–2027 [15]. The Java/PHP/JS/cloud conference circuit doesn’t pass through the radius.
- No GDG Namur, no AWS user group Namur, no Microsoft user group Namur. GDG Mons and GDG Brussels are the nearest community chapters; AWS User Group Belgium meets in Brussels.
- Predatory “conference alert” listings for Namur (ICDLT, ICDMM, ICDS-SGES, ICETCS in June/July 2026) are virtual events using Namur as a nominal address and are not credible local conferences — ignore them.
- Digitalize Namur — the recurring digital-transformation trade show at Namur Expo (4 editions through Jan 2025) has been discontinued; no 2026 edition.
Practical pairing with the L’Eau Vive Saturday
L’Eau Vive [9] is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and for Saturday lunch — Saturday dinner is the canonical slot. The KIKK 2026 dates (Wed–Sun, 21–25 Oct) put Saturday 24 October inside the festival, which is the obvious anchor: Saturday is a programmed conference day with the art trail running through the city centre. Book L’Eau Vive well ahead — Saturday evenings during KIKK weekend will be tight.
